Located in West Vancouver, British Columbia, The Breath Beneath offers breathwork for grief, loss, life transitions, and nervous system regulation—a space to slow down, reconnect with your body, and make room for what life has asked you to carry.
The Breath Beneath is about what lies beneath the surface.
Beneath grief. Beneath survival. Beneath the ways we have learned to cope. Beneath the stories we tell—and the experiences that can be harder to put into words.
It is an invitation to slow down, listen inward, and gently reconnect with yourself through the breath and the body.
I believe our bodies have an extraordinary capacity to adapt. Through loss, change, stress, and the experiences that shape us, we find ways to protect ourselves and keep going. Sometimes those ways of coping serve us for a long time. And sometimes, with enough safety, support, and time, we can begin to listen to what our bodies have been communicating all along.
I don't see myself as the healer. My role is to create a grounded, compassionate space where you can feel supported as you meet your own experience—with curiosity, choice, and respect for your pace.
Whether you are grieving someone or something you love, navigating a major life transition, feeling overwhelmed or disconnected, or simply longing to feel more at home in your body, you don't have to arrive with the right words or know exactly what you need.
Through Conscious Connected Breathwork and supportive breathing practices, we create space for the breath, build greater awareness of what is happening within the body, and support your capacity to stay connected to yourself through what life brings.
There is a breath beneath every story.

The Breath Beneath began with breathwork, but my hope for it has always been a little bigger than that.
I wanted to create a space where people could come together through the seasons of life we don’t always know how to navigate.
Grief. Change. Loss. New beginnings.
And all the messy, beautiful in-between.
A place to breathe.
To slow down.
To learn more about ourselves and the bodies we live in.
To have honest conversations about grief, life transitions, our capacity, and what it means to be human.
And, maybe most importantly, to feel a little less alone in whatever we happen to be carrying.
There will be breathwork here — individual sessions, group experiences, and practices you can take into your everyday life.
But I also hope there will be community.
People learning alongside one another.
Sharing their stories.
Making room for conversations we often don’t make enough room for.
The Breath Beneath is still becoming, and I’m allowing it to grow slowly and organically.
I’m really happy you’re here!

Hi, I’m Pouneh.
I’m the founder of The Breath Beneath, and my path to this work has been anything but linear.
For well over a decade, I worked in executive leadership, including at the C-suite level. It was meaningful work, and in many ways, I flourished there.
And then life changed.
I entered a season of profound personal grief that changed the way I understood loss, the body, and what it means to find your way through something you cannot simply think your way out of.
It was during this time that I found breathwork.
What began as something deeply personal gradually became something I wanted to understand more fully—not only through my own experience, but through education, training, and practice.
I went on to become a certified breathwork facilitator and have continued my studies in psychology, grief and loss, nervous system science, somatic approaches, and the relationship between breath, body, and emotional experience.
My own experiences have shaped this work, but they are not the centre of it. You are.
Today, I have the privilege of supporting people navigating grief, life transitions, emotional overwhelm, and reconnection with the body through Conscious Connected Breathwork and supportive breathing practices.
I don't believe my role is to heal you or tell your body where it needs to go. My role is to meet you where you are—to offer presence, steadiness, and a space where you can slow down, listen inward, and remain in choice throughout the process.
Because sometimes we don't need someone to show us the way out.
We need somewhere safe enough to meet ourselves where we are.
I’m so glad you found your way here.
